My client requested chat that looks a certain way and he would not accept anything else. Without an existing chat foundation on the site, I had to get one and customize it. I chose phpfreechat and as it looks nothing like required I had to dig deep into CSS and fully reconstruct it. Unfortunately some of the customizations required were not as simple as editing the template file. After 3 days of struggle and finally a desperate call for help on twitter I finally was able to do the job.

Assertions allow fine grained access control not only based on module/controller/action combination but on unlimited set of critier, most common one, the author of a certain resource such as a blog comment or a forum thread. See how Zend_Acl helps us accomplish a per-user based set of permissions.

Automatic language detection is our next step in Zend_Translate adventure now that we got the basics of how it works. Even though there is a number of ways to detect the user's language automatically without us doing anything, I still prefer to keep track of a few things manually, rather than let ZF do the work blindly in order to gain a little more control of how to handle the page.
